Pascale Gouverneur hails from Belgium where she lectures at the University specialising in languages; besides being a highly respected linguist, she is a visual artist of immense talent who paints and also designs book covers. Her poetry is startingly original, we guarantee you will not have read anything quite like these.
What sort of scream? is a 96pp perfect-bound collection published in 2014 to rave reviews, while Pièces de résistance (2018) is a massive 144pp perfect-bound, (in my opinion) almost a single continuous highly original poem, almost a theatrical piece intended to be staged, and definitely my favourite read to date... Capriccio, a recent addition, takes you up and down whimsical lane. This 108pp delight has yet again taken us off guard: letters, poems, tales, short stories collide in the most enticing way; as you read on, you wonder what next is in store to satisfy and satiate. Energizing. If you click on the cover, you can email Pascale for more details and/or an update.
ALSO; Pascale’s brand new book, Catalogue Raisonné - A Corpus-based Study of Patience, will be available VERY soon. The body, mind and flesh, is examined in the patient progress through breast cancer. Blunt – never bleak – the words unwrap some stiff truths, and rock us gently through fear... More details to follow when the book is available.
