Welcome to the webpage of Janet Laugharne who was runner-up in the 2022 erbacce-prize for poetry selected from no less that fifteen thousand submissions world-wide... and it is worth mentioning that some of the world's finest poets entered (See those who made the long-list HERE) and that judging was 100% blind... all the judges had sent to them was the submission and a reference number.
Anyway, a few months on and we have finished constructing the book which was part of Janet's prize; it is called 'Greenscapes ...and other poems', is 78 pages and perfect bound with what I'm sure you'll agree is a quite astonishing cover. Look at the rear cover blurbs and you'll get some flavour of just how good this collection is and as a bonus one of Janet's poems appears on the rear cover also.
Click on the cover to email the poet and she'll happily send a signed copy or give you details of the dates for zoom-launches or physical-launches... or just contact her to have a chat, Janet is a very affable poet and is happy to talk about her poetics or about poetry in general.
If you click on the 'Buy Now' button you'll open a PayPal link and the cost of the book is £9.95 plus a token p/p payment within the UK of £2.00 IF you are ordering outside of the EU (From America, NZ etc) please email Janet first to check if there may be an additional customs or postage charge.
Meanwhile here is some more information about the erbacce-prize runner-up 2022: Janet Laugharne lives in Cardiff, Wales, where she is Professor Emerita in education after an extensive career in language education and Welsh-English bilingualism. Her creative writing (poetry and shorter prose) has been published in journals including Atrium, Black Bough, Acumen, Sarasvati, Prole and Reflex Fiction. In addition to her individual work, she writes under the penname J.L. Harland with Jacqueline Harrett, relishing the challenge and fun of co-authorship. What Lies Between Them, their debut novel, was longlisted for the Cinnamon Debut Novel prize before being published in February 2022 by Dixi Books and you can buy it HERE.
A proud mother and grandmother, Janet Laugharne enjoys socialising with family and friends, and travelling when life permits, as well as the quieter pastimes of reading, yoga and meditation. She is the daughter of the Anglo-Welsh writer, Cledwyn Hughes (not, ever, to be confused with the minister of agriculture of the same name).
Oh and Janet has her own very inviting and informative website; click HERE to pay her a visit... AND there is a lengthy and totally intriguing interview HERE with Sophie Buchaillard which is both perceptive and informative...
